Problem

Can someone help me fix this? Once the fuel reaches a certain level, the center of mass falls behind the center of lift, and if you don't lower your speed quickly enough, the plane will start flying backwards!

Success Criteria

1) It must be able to fly at Mach 5!
2) It must have an aerospike rocket nozzle!
3) It must be small enough to launch from my Stratolauncher so it's fine if it has an extremely high takeoff speed!
4) I would prefer if it kept the same structure, but if you absolutely can't it's all fine!

@sacr3dbac0n0 nah it's already flying well! 6 minutes of flight time is more than enough!

Change all fuel tank priorities to 1, and it will burn evenly. Then your CG/CoM won't shift midflight anymore! After that, you can move your CG or CoL back where you want it to be.

@Livingg017 and moar power is the solution to anything!

@Zazo i do not know what does it influence but, higher number means moar power right?

@Livingg017 maybe! I'm still working out what the compression ratio does!

@Zazo uhm, somehow my planes do not follow that rules, can it be because of the engines having very high compressor stages?

Altitude still gives higher top speeds for both air-breathing and rocket-powered crafts!

@Livingg017 nah flying at sea level gives better acceleration for air-breathing builds, rockets work better at higher altitudes because of air resistance

    @Livingg017 fuel or ballast 😂

why would you use ballast? that would reduce performance for no function at all, just use fuel

@Lq11 nah ingame you can get faster by flying nearly at sea level, try it yourself by flying any of my high speed craft at max throttle just meters above the sea and then respawn and do so at 20000m

place ballast components on the front, batteries, for example. or make the rear fuel tanks to be used before the fromt ones. you can do this by editing tank priority

@Zazo No problem, good luck with the project.

@Lq11 thanks!! I forgot about dead weight and was using batteries for weight 😂

@Zazo It's also capable of reaching speeds exceeding Mach 5. The key is to get as high as possible.

@Zazo I solved your problem. In the outermost forward tank, completely fill the "Dead Weight" indicator, which is 1.43 tons, and in the second outer tank, fill the same indicator to 7.83 tons.
