ROLE

Designed and put into service at the beginning of the 22nd century, The Skipper Class Corvette is a first generation deep space combat vehicle. It's design makes the craft well suited for fleet support and patrol/scout operations.

WEAPONRY/SYSTEMS

The Skipper comes equipped with two 40mm auto cannons, as well as a redundant point defense grid consisting of a pair of 12.7mm rotary MGs. To guide the weapons and scan for potential threats, a large radar dome is mounted at the bow of the ship. If the Radar were to be damaged, each weapon comes with its own fire and control system, which also makes the craft resilient to being jammed via EW.

For longer ranged combat, the Skipper makes use of a single torpedo launcher located midship. In theory up to five torpedoes can be stored in the ships magazines, however ripple fire of the entire rack is ill advised.

Being a first generation combat vehicle, the ship is limited to using chemical engines. This greatly affects its range. The engines combined with the cannons also cause the corvette to accumulate a significant amount of heat. To counter this, six large radiators are mounted around the center of the craft.

The final noteable feature of the Skipper is the cocpit, which rotates to make the pilots perspective relativley still compared to the direction the rocket is slewing too. The habitaion module supports six crew members (one pilot, two gunners, an engineer, a flight surgeon, and a communications officer.)

HOW TO FLY

-Just fly it like a normal rocket!

-In order to fire the torpedo, locate the torpedo tube, clip your camera into the launch, and click the front of the missile. Then, press take control. Next, simply select a target via the map, open the launch doors (Slider 1) and press activation group 2. The torpedo will (Hopefully) do what its supposed to do. Ive gotten it to hit a target 1.5km away but i havent tested from any further than that.

-Lights are activated with group 9

QUICK NOTE: DONT CONTROL THE CRAFT WITH RCS AND THE ENGINE BURNING AT THE SAME TIME (IT WILL BECOME AN OLYMPIC ACROBAT)
