I have been attempting to do this for a really, really long time, ever since I started playing Juno. VTOLs are difficult, especially with the center of mass requirements for different modes, controls, etc. Now I finally am able to present a somewhat cromulent VTOL craft.
The TA-540 is a sleek, fast personal VTOL transport that is able to go many places. In VTOL mode, taking off is simple: Turn on the motors, gyroscope, and get ready to take off. Once you are airborne and you are in a somewhat stable position, use Slider 1 to pivot the motors forward. I would recommend pivoting them to 45 degrees first, and when it has reached a forward velocity of over 50 M/S you may tilt the motors to 0 degrees. Another way to take advantage of the capabilities is to use the aircraft as an STOL. To do this, pivot motors to 45 degrees and then take off. You will be off the ground extremely quickly! After this, you can almost instantly tilt the motors to 0 degrees and fly around normally.
This craft cruises very quickly, at around 130 M/S. It can go to 180-190 M/S at full throttle. Stalls at around 30 M/S, and to go slower tilt the motors up.
Thank you all for 1K and enjoy what is certainly one of my best crafts!
