I made my classic version of Starship not long ago, so it wasn't hard to make a Lunar version of it as well.

I decided to leave out the Sea level raprors for this version, because this version is not meant to be returned back to earth. Some official renders have them, but I think they will be removed anyway to save weight.

This version includes 24 landing thrusters that will be used for landing, instead of the classic Raptor engines.

All engines have their own activation groups.

Have fun !

I think this is the absolute best starship that I could find the lunar version I am just going to add the booster. Maybe if SpaceX can paint the booster white

People are gonna be scared about the fact that a bunch of rocket engines are right next to them.

@RamenNoodlesXVII True. I wonder how they are gonna fuel the HLS.

@NebulaX terrain avoidance and since Gateway is going to be on an elliptical near-rectilinear halo orbit. And yes, Starship either way is going be able to get into orbit even without a heat shield and lunar or nonlunar. It's going to have to get into orbit either way or else it'll crash back down to Earth. In a polite manner, I think you kind of missed my point a bit

@RamenNoodlesXVII On the moon, the gravity is 1/6 of Earth’s. With the reduction of the heat shield on the HLS, Starship can easily get into orbit. Plus, there is no atmosphere on the moon, allowing a simple orbit of a few kilometers above the surface.

I’m glad someone finally made a good Lunar HLS Starship. It is amazing to use.

@RamenNoodlesXVII It'll use methalox for its rcs thrusters.

But yeah like you mentioned, things might if not probably will change and perhaps the people at SpaceX find a way to improve the thrust of the vactors

@VoiT4a the vacuum engines on their own may not have enough thrust to weight to allow it to get into Orbit which is why the sea-level raptors may be used even if they're not as efficient in the vacuum of space

@ninthninja05 sure it may be able to refuel methane and oxygen from another starship in orbit but it probably might not be able to replenish its monopropellant tanks

@RamenNoodlesXVII Efficiency isn't really an issue for the initial ascent to LEO. It'll be refueled on orbit, so it can pretty much drain all of its reserves. If need be, the Superheavy booster could extend its burn to impart more velocity, so the moonship could have enough time to get into orbit.

@RamenNoodlesXVII That's exactly what I was thinking. But then it just occurred to me that if I removed the central three engines, they could have enough room for a gimbal after all. Then I also saw a cinematic video from C-bass Productions [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFt_LsFRFEQ&t=385s] where after separating the first stage, only the ones meant for Vacuum lit up. Definitely, an interesting topic that will change many times before the final version :D

Nope, sea level Raptors will probably used in the lower atmosphere because the Vactors don't have gimbal authority due to size constraints. Yes, RCS may be used but it may not have as much control authority and efficiency.
