Description:
The Ekspress-2000 is a universal satellite bus designed by the Russian Reshetnev Company. It is mainly used as a basis for satellites going to the geostationary orbit, due to its high payload capacity and flexibility, as well as a lot of fuel capacity and thrust for station keeping, which results in a long lifespan of the satellite. In one instance, a second stage delivering a satellite based on this hub failed to reach the geostationary transfer orbit, yet the satellite was capable of delivering itself in position, with its mission continuing as normal.
