The Shōkaze-class Patrol Vessel, informally referred to by its crews as Chibikaze due to its small size (and unexpectedly cute appearance) is a class of light frigates designed as a more agile patrol option compared to its larger german sibling, the E-class.

Despite being the smallest warship of the E.F.C.F, the Shōkaze-class is known for its maneuverability and redundancy, allowing it to operate in more hazardous environments such as dense debris fields for rescue operations, and its reinforced landing structure allows it to touch down on uneven terrain, makeshift pads, or surfaces that would be impossible to larger vessels. As a result, ships of this class are a common sight across frontier zones, various disaster areas, and of course, contested regions. With various variants saw active service, from hospital ship to VIP transport.

Despite never being intended for direct fleet engagements, at least one recorded incident saw a Shōkaze-class successfully neutralize a Gatlantis light cruiser without external support.
