If you were asked to describe the Indian Space Research Organization, one of the key points you would be talking about is their incredibly low budget compared to other major space agencies. Even so, they somehow managed to be the first organization to land on the lunar south pole, and they also managed to launch a Mars orbiter mission for less money than it took Hollywood to make 'The Martian'. One of the compromises they're having to have is in their launch vehicle's design.
Any Indian rocket is a coctail of technologies from all around the world. Their SRB tech is taken from the Americans, the liquid motor technology is based on the French Viking engine, and cryogenics are based upon Russian designs. This leads to some weird design solutions being implemented on the launch vehicles.
One example of such solutions is the booster-core configuration of the GSLV Mk I and Mk II rockets. Instead of having a liquid-fuelled core and solid-fuelled boosters, on GSLV the core is the one that uses solid fuel. It's also interesting that it burns out before the strap-on boosters - so they get jettisoned from the second stage together, no radial decouplers needed.
While the GSLV wasn't a very reliable or advanced rocket for its time, it proved to be the stepping stone in the Indian rocket development.

@OrionTechnologies I will certainly do it very soon! But literally as i was starting the build the VC something came across my mind... i figured how to control the thrust vector of solid rocket motors (i made a post on the topic). I'll make one or two rockets to demonstrate that, and then i'll get to work on the Vulcan

@OACOTEOC By 'leading spots' I meant GDP per capita, not just GDP

@VonKaramanIndustries India is the fourth strongest country in the world, number one is America number two is Russia number three is China and number four is India, although this is just total weapons and most of India’s stuff is off Russia, India as a nation isn’t poor but the people are in a less than ideal state considering they’ve sent rockets to the moon.

@OACOTEOC lol. On the other hand, the Chinese also sent humans to space and probes to the moon when it was still a pretty darn poor country. I bet that India will get into the leading spots within this century. I'm not versed in politics tho.

Bravo on the Indians for going to the moon instead of fixing their country.

@VonKaramanIndustries, thank you! Vulcan-Centaur is one of my favorite rockets…

@OrionTechnologies Thanks a lot, and yes, any request is appreciated, i'm always short on ideas. Also, bravo to you on 2K!

Here’s to 1K for for Von Karman Industries! Can I make a request, if you’ve not already planned something?
@VonKaramanIndustries, oh, i could use gimbaled SRB nozzles.
