This is the OTRAG Hexagonal design, the first commercial rocket concept in human history developed by the German company OTRAG. Unfortunately, OTRAG was never able to complete testing of their concept or deliver any services—the world was not fair to them. This craft simulates the concept at an extremely exaggerated and unrealistic scale to highlight this chapter of rocketry history. (A model of the real OTRAG, along with a more realistic improved version, will be uploaded soon!)
The design is a cluster of 631 modules divided into three stages. The engines are pressure-fed, just like the real OTRAG system. I tried to make the engines comparable to modern pressure-fed engines, except for those in the first stage. Unlike the original OTRAG concept, each stage here uses engines optimized for its operating altitude: the first stage for sea level, the second for the upper atmosphere, and the third for vacuum. This vehicle is capable of delivering a payload of 1.5 kt to LDO (apoapsis/periapsis at 100 km altitude), and 1 kt very easily.
The flight program is set to pitch/tilt for a 1 kt payload. The payload included is a diamond, but you can replace it with your own 1 kt payload. The program also handles stage separations by triggering the necessary part explosions for each stage. If you change the payload, make sure to adjust the pitch settings in the program, or rewrite a new Vizzy script including the explosive stages.
