After the F-47 program was decided to be over budget, the Extended Lifetime Fighter program was started. It stated that participants needed to have high amounts of stealth, high turn rate, and the engines in outboard sections to make upgrades easy and cheap. As this was to make the US Air Forces’s newest fighter aircraft, many companies competed, with only NEO and Boeing reaching the prototype phase. Boeing’s X-49 beat out NEO’s bid because of an engine malfunction causing the death of the X-50’s test pilot. The CEO of NEO decided to fly all test flights from then on. The bad publicity caught up with the plane, however, and Boeing’s troubled X-49 was put into production.
Performance
This plane was designed with turn speed in mind, and without any gyros or editing, it can do eight 360 degree cobras in a row. It has six wing pylons for all your CAS and dogfighting needs, and has a decent size internal weapons bay; it can almost fit one of my 13,000 lb glide bombs. It terms of yaw it is somewhat unstable but it is fine tuned with its pitch.
Notes
Hello! This plane might not look as good as some of the other ones out there, but I try to create realistic flying experiences without all the hyper-powerful engines and gyroscopes that some of the other builders use.
Remember to turn off vapor trails before flight
