It can take off vertically like a launch vehicle, and land at the airport after returning to the atmosphere like an airplane. The space shuttle consists of an orbiter, an outer tank and two solid boosters.
After the challenger and Columbia accidents, the shuttle officially retired after its last flight in 2011.

Its an amazing craft but only one issue i found is that its almost impossible to rendezvous with other crafts like space stations in orbit because of off center engine of shuttle,
Everytime i plan a burn it makes different orbit than planned
For replica its good but in game it doesn't work well for rendezvous with other craft -
