The MiG-25 Foxbat is a Soviet high-speed interceptor developed during the Cold War to counter fast, high-altitude threats such as the SR-71 Blackbird and strategic bombers. First flown in 1964 and introduced in the early 1970s, the MiG-25 shocked Western analysts with its extreme speed and climb performance.
Built mainly from stainless steel, the Foxbat was designed for raw power rather than agility. Powered by two massive turbojet engines, it could exceed Mach 2.8 and reach altitudes over 20,000 meters, making it one of the fastest combat aircraft ever produced.
