Eager to revive the failed Edgly Optica, Hyperion repurposed the unusual design for their light sport aircraft, the Dragonfly. Much like the Optica, it was beset by problems with material acquisition and misfortune, as well as legal roadblocks thrown Hyperion's way by Edgly's closest friends. After two years, they discontinued the J-33 in 1997, having sold 947 units.
