The Borsch Block is intended to be used as a food warehouse for the CSS. It is, in fact, a big fridge which allows food and temperature sensitive experiments to be kept safe and for long time. The red tanks are full of borsch, a slavic traditional soup, delivered to the hungry cosmonauts in the living sections via a pressure pump. It is also a monopropellent storage with 18 round tanks for hydrazine. Other features include radiators and a docking system dish (AG8) for borsch-loaded Progress ships.
