The Atlas Satellite Bus is a basic framework for each satellite type. The Heavy version has an diameter of 2 m. The two solar panel arrays generate a total of 2.5 kW of power and automatically align themselves with the sun (Vizzy programme). The Spirit Engine and the 340 kg monopropellant provide sufficient thrust for orbit corrections. In addition, the Atlas has a satellite dish, an antenna with beacon light, radiators, RCS and a detachable cargo mount.
