Colonizing Worlds mining/refining update: H2O Miner
Short vid of miner in use: https://www.reddit.com/r/simplerockets/s/uSmLVCPsRK

Miner is a tracked vehicle that drills out surface/subsurface rock/regolith/ice to produce water. The refinery will use the water to produce Hydrogen and Oxygen to be further refined into various fuels.

Miner is pre-loaded on the ARTEMIS for tansport off world. (For ARTEMIS controls refer to ARTEMIS download)

Features:
-scans for H2O fields.
-as miner takes resorces the fields will reduce in quantity and size.
-no mods required, and allows for mining/refining fuel in vanilla career mode.

Controls:
- roll - turn/pivot right and left
- pitch - move forward/reverse

Action Groups:
- AG1 - external lights
- AG2 - lights
- AG3 - door
- AG4 - drill on/off
- AG5 - deploy drill
- AG6 - scan for new H20 field
- AG7 - target last scanned H2O field

How to use:
Scan for a new resource field, the faster the vehicle is moving will increase the chances of detecting a new field. Once a field is found travel to inside the fields radius. Turn on and deploy the drill then start mining the resource. The miner needs to be moving to mine, it will not mine if its stationary (because it gathers surface/subsurface materials), it only needs to be moving slowly (1m/s is fast enough). A bar and count will display info on the tank levels, when full offload the resources at the refinery. If the field is depleted or you just want to find a new field then scan again. New fields found replace the saved location of the old one.

To deploy from ARTEMIS:
Turn on “deploy cargo” action group, when the miner is lowered switch to the miner. Then tap on the side coupler and activate it to release the miner. You can then drive the miner away from the transport ship.

Tips:
When the tank is full it can get a little top heavy, try to not make sharp turns or it could flip over. This is more of a problem on lower gravity bodies.

@angelo1gr lol no I’m a paramedic. But I used to be an electrical engineer a thousand years ago.

Ok man, I’ve been looking at your builds. You should have at least 23k points. You’re skill is beyond mine.

There will be at least one more miner to mine hydrocarbons and xenon. The refinery is also not yet complete. The rest will be done shortly.

The planet side refueling trucks are done, but I haven’t uploaded them because I’m trying to automate the fuel arm docking procedure. If I can’t get it to work manual docking of the refueling arm isn’t difficult.
