This is RAD-88 “Höllensturm” by Reichenbach AeroDynamics.
This aircraft was designed as a prototype for a high-altitude hypersonic aircraft.
This aims to demonstrate the following technical capabilities:
1. Significantly reducing the number of wings (down to a single pair of main wings and one vertical tail)
2. High-altitude hypersonic flight (Mach 5 or higher) using RBCC
3. Flight at 15,000m altitude using RBCC
4. Rapid acceleration using solid-fuel rockets
The RB-87 engine installed is an RBCC (Rocket-Based Combined Cycle) engine, providing sufficient acceleration even at high altitudes with low atmospheric pressure. Reichenbach AeroDynamics has commented that the RB-87 is “a bundle of possibilities.”
Operations:
AG1 Engines
AG2 Auto Take Off(Automatically executes until ASL reaches 500m)
AG3~6 No settings
AG7 Parachute (Deployment recommended below 200m/s)
AG8 Landing Gear
AG9 Drop Tanks (Typically jettisoned automatically)
AG10 RCS (Automatically activates above 10,000m altitude)
Caution:
All takeoffs assume AG2 AutoTakeOff. If you wish to take off manually, either decipher the sequence from the vizzy program or state your intent in the comments.
Altitude limit is 20000m. Above 25000m, the tanks will rupture. Be careful.
Parachute deployment is recommended below 200m/s.
Tire marks may appear during AutoTakeOff, but this does not indicate brake deployment.
Anyway: Have fun.
