Fengyun-1 meteorological satellite is the first generation of quasi-polar sun synchronous orbit meteorological satellite developed by China. Fengyun-1 meteorological satellite, a series of polar-orbiting meteorological satellites in China, has launched 4 satellites, namely FY-1A, FY-1B, FY-1C and FY-1D. FY-1A and FY-1B satellites were launched on September 7, 1988 and September 3, 1990 respectively. The FY-1 C satellite has made great improvements in performance and has been listed in the world meteorological service application satellite series. FY-1 D satellite has been designed in the same way since 2000 and was launched by Long March 4 B rocket at Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center on May 15, 2002.
