A-31U1 Medved' MBT

The A-31U1 Medved' MBT is a Asharian made MBT produced by the Akyanlav company, it weighs 33 tons and has a 125mm cannon along with a 19mm MG mounted to the side of the commander's cupola.

• History of the A-31

The A-31 MBT dates back to the MBT-30 prototype, it was originally going to have a 122mm gun but was later changed to 125mm to meet the standards of other MBTs.

The turret is a peculiar shape usually not seen in western tanks, Akyanlav describes it as a "Heart shaped turret"
A future upgrade in the form of A-31U2 will have a more dome-shaped turret, although rumors say Akyanlav may drop the dome-shaped turret concept

A-31 also has a experimental flying jet version, the A-31F, It had 3 test flights, with 2 successful although it didn't enter service

• Role in the Asharian military

A-31's are usually seen with supporting infantry in a formation that Asharia calls "Tankovyy Batal'on", they are similar to Panzer Battalions used by Germany in World War Two.

• Early A-31 problems

The early A-31 (Designated MBT-30 or O-305, For Object 305) suffered many engine and transmission problems, those were later fixed in MBT-30-01 or O-305-1, Early turret designs also called for a square-ish turret, similar to the one on the K-24

• Exportations to other countries

Asharia is happy to export the A-31U1 MBT to allied countries such as Helllinya, although they won't export to countries that are not allied to them
