These were technically called GRB-36 and RF-84K with these additions.

The largest wingspan of any combat aircraft 230 feet/70m. They could fly for nearly 4000 miles nonstop fully loaded and 10,000 miles unloaded. Design started in 1941, the US needed a bomber that could reach both Europe and Japan and return. But it was delayed and first flew in 1946. They were used for reconnaissance during the Cold War with the Soviet Union. Each engine had 100 gal oil tank and 56 spark plugs, 336 Total Spark plugs! FICON was well tested with over 170 successful airborne launches and retrievals in 1953.
