Part of a series on TritonAerospace's lore. | designed to work with TritonAerospace's Weapons Network.
Lore, use cases, launch platforms, and missile specifications are listed here!
"The day the stars fell down."
Included in Package
- new missile: my AAM-43 "Shooting Star"
- Superlong Range AAM, could probably go 600km but I didn't test it's exact max/min range
- can NOT fit into internal weapons bays (this thing is MASSIVE)
- Meant to fill an absolutely absurd range band
Lore
Use Cases
this is DSC's AWACS sniper, goes stupid far and stupid high under the right conditions. It's best used when launched aboge 12 kilometers and above mach 0.8, however the higher and faster you can get it, the better.
Most of it's speed is going to be bled during loft and terminal phase. Try to minimize the time you spend in these zones by maximizing your launch speed and altitude. Depending on how well you do, your range might be anywhere from 300 to 600km.
Missile Specifications
- speed cap: Mach 6 (launched @ 20km altitude/mach 2)
- Rangebands: mid-superlong (100-600km/62-372mi)
- Altitude cap: 60km (200,000ft), however cruises at 40km (130,000ft) due to guidance tuning constraints and air drag.
- max target altitude: 15km
- Probability of Hit: 90% (under ideal conditions)
- Probability of Kill: 99% (Absolutely massive warhead, will vaporize anything it gets into range of)
- Off-The-Rails Weight (excluding ejection rack): 543kg
- TWR: 11x (off-the-rails), 20x (empty)
- burn time: 12 seconds
- Steering: Tailfins with 35° control authority
- Launch platforms: F-4C (Block 2 MLU) "Cyber" (externally only), F-9 (A/B/C) "Dragonfly"
That's all of the important stuff. I recommend launching above 10km though. happy hunting! :D
