LAAT-02 (Low Altitude Attack/Trainer)

This plane was developed to meet the needs of several developing nations, specifically Brazil and its Low Cost Multi Role Fighter program. Due to this lower cost because of the now mass production of the F-119HT turbofan, along with other streamlined processes, NEO was able to implement some other newer technologies like a forward facing laser weapon while keeping the plane easy to maintain, affordable, and reliable under pressure. While not as stealthy or maneuverable as other multi role aircraft, it has steel plating built into its hull around the pilot and engine, making it well protected against AAMs and SAMs. Its characteristics made it an eye watering prospect for many less affluent nations, so a total of 12,360 of these aircraft were built over its lifetime, making it one of the most common planes on the modern battlefield. It also was the first time NEO placed kill switches in their planes (that the public knows of)

PERFORMANCE

This plane sacrifices turn rate for stability, with above average speed for a single engine plane, topping out at over Mach 2.3 at 50% fuel. Its characteristics made can carry a decent bomb load, with slight modifications to the wings allowing for over 50,000 lbs of payload over 10 wing and 1 fuselage hard points. It can travel for an extended period of time, and has a good range, with nothing added to improve flight performance that isn’t realistic.

NOTES

Hello! This plane might not look as good as some of the other ones out there, but I try to create realistic flying experiences without all the hyper-powerful engines and gyroscopes that some of the other builders use. I also try to balance quality (so that it does t look like a 50 part flying brick), and part size (so that your IPhone doesn’t become an IED)
