Auto Credit Based on Seraku's Discovery Space Shuttle Ver2.1
Launched in April 1983, TDRS-1 was the first in a series of American communications satellites put into geostationary orbit via a solid IUS transfer stage. It accompanied the Space Shuttle Challenger on her maiden flight, STS-6.
