    @seventeen
    I was talking about Fairing....
    So it do slow down a bit
    LMAO...
    I don't want to argue more... If u like it then if u want then upvote ... If u not then I don't know... Ur wish ...

    @AxisAerospace it slows it down when reentering, so that you can safely deploy a parachute. If mach 20 to under mach 1 is "a bit" to you then excuse me but LMAO

    A dog cant be human but may learn some human activities... Similarly a heat shield couldn't be a parachute but may slow down a bit.....

    @AxisAerospace no because it slows it down, just like a parachute

    @seventeen
    If they are aren't aerodynamic then the capsule will broke up into pieces due to the huge frictional force of air.....

    @Vedhaspace heat shields are supposed to slow down capsules to a decent speed, so they aren't aerodynamic

    @seventeen the fairings used by others are not reuseable
    ISRO termed fairing as heatsheild because of the property it has
    Real heatsheild: aerodynamic (non turbulent flow of air), protects the capsule from heat
    Fairing: aerodynamic (Sam as mentioned above), protects payload from heat.

    @AxisAerospace I think what you mean is that it doesn't burn in the atmosphere when the fairings reenter the atmosphere, because they are meant to be reusable

    U r right... It make the rocket aerodynamic but also protect it from heat...

    @seventeen have you ever seen the interior of the heat shield (your fairing).... It is either black or silver.... And what colour matters.... The elements are important

    @AxisAerospace no it's supposed to keep the rocket aerodynamic, if it was a heat shield it would've been silver, gold or black

    @seventeen it's called heatsheild in ISRO because it protects the payload from heat while accent.

    @seventeen
    Yes it is also known as Heat Shield... It protects the payload from heat damage.... It is also known as fairing...
