I'm starting a challenge: Create an idea for a rocket. It can be as Sci-Fi as you wants.
Requirements:
1. Needs more than one function. Ex: Cone is able to eject and launch to another planet.
2. Needs to have a purpose.
3. Needs to be for a nation.

No prizes sadly, just the satisfaction of bragging rights.

    Icarus:

An Cuban rocket designed to travel to and back from the Sun. Has a variety of scientific equipment and a “suicide probe” designed for launch into the star. Manned by 5 astronauts and has an on-board computer. Unforuntantly, the computer is powered by Amazon Echo and can never understand what you are saying. And since it is from Cuba, the astronauts are all grumpy old men. Jeff Bezos will also be accompanying the astronauts, so they’ve packed some iguanas for him to eat on their journey.
We also put an XBOX One on there so you can play Forza Motorsport.
    P.S. It’s painted pink.
P.P.S. Sponsored by the Chicago Outfit.
    P.P.P.S. Has a waffle-maker.
    .
Cost: 1,000,000 golden kittens and a bottle of Mountain Dew.

    The Harvester

When the US runs out of resources it resorts to extracting resources from other planets. This is where The Harvester comes in.
The Harvester is a huge space station that when it selects a planet it will send out multiple surface scanning satellites. The satellites will scan for valuable resources.
Once the satellites have found what they were looking for the main space station sends out automated mining vessels to strip the planet of its resources. The vessels will have the ability to bore deep inside the planet in order to extract all that the planet has to offer. Once the mining vessels are full they rendezvous with the main base in orbit to transfer its contents.
Space tankers will constantly be transporting the the resources from The Harvester back to earth
The Harvester will repeat this process for many years until the planet is stripped bare of its resources. Once that happens it simply collects all of its equipment and moves on to the next planet.

    The Harvester Specs:

    Mass-150,000 tons

    Aproximate Lifespan-400 years

    Max storage-200 tons

    Nation affiliation-United States

    Date of production-2482 AD
