ESS 3.0 Open Beta Version will release on game version 0.9.300.1(Experimental) at 20:00 GMT on Monday 23rd March!

Hey Everyone!

4 Months since Stepping Stone was released, its finally time to be announcing the release date for the long overdue mega-release: ESS 3.0 - Urados Dusk. Pedro and I have been working on this biggest ever version of Enhanced Solar System for countless hours now, and I'm currently putting the finishing touches to the moon orbits and checking through the code.

How We Will Upload:

Due to the flexibility that the current Mod Post gives ESS, I am intending to maintain it as the main "shop front" of the system. However, the download button will now link to the Planetary System post for Enhanced Solar System. This is not an attempt to farm upvote points. I feel it is absolutely essential that the mod should still have a clear "home" page with custom images and high levels of customisation.

Basic Changelog:

5 New Moons for Urados
1. Eros - A small, irregularly shaped inner ring moon scarred by meteor bombardment and cloaked in a thick layer of ring dust.
2. Aite - Urados' smallest moon, this ellipsoid body has unusual shining deposits of a copper-like material. One of the solar system's brightest moons, it is covered in ice snow like its larger cousin Eros.
3. Miros - The innermost of Urados' large moons, and the first to be officially declassified from this patch. Inspired by Uranus' moon Ariel, it is scarred by huge canyons (grabens) and has tar-like tholin deposits at its pole.
4. Orcus - Modelled on Neptune's moon Triton, this large icy world with its vivid colours and pale skies will be an destination high on the list of any space tourist. Beware of the fracture cracks crossing the blue cantaloupe terrain!
5. Taurus - The solar system's most mysterious world, this mega-moon has an atmosphere thicker than Droo's, leading many to speculate that life exists around its polar methane lakes.

Urados
New high-detail ring system.

Tydos
New ring system.

A Warning:

As you may have noticed, we are releasing the new ESS onto an experimental game version. This is because the main feature of the most recent beta is an improved solar system object sharing method. Therefore, there is a chance that bugs and game breaks could occur, especially in the early days of this release.

@socialist It should be reasonably soon, hopefully if we can get ESS out and running we can make any necessary bug reports to move it towards an official beta!

@Kwghell800 We needed to sync the release of ESS with the experimental game version release. Unfortunately Hephaestus wasn't completed in time, but it is planned to be included in a future version, along with another moon which was completed but never announced. :)
