I'm starting to get the hang of Vizzy. I've finally managed to write a reliable program to get my rockets into Droo orbit. I'm now trying to learn to create one that will get me to Luna. I'm wondering if it's possible to create a burn node in Vizzy. I'm also wondering how you would go about coding the logic to place the node at a specific position in your orbit in relation to the position of the target. I am able to lock Luna at the target but I'm a bit stuck now. Any help would be appreciated.

If you set Luna as your target you can get its position in vizzy.

@sflanker Thanks for the info! The difficulty I'm running into is that without knowing the position of Luna, it's difficult to determine where to burn and for how long.

It is not currently possible to create burn nodes with Vizzy. However, it is definitely possible to calculate parameters for a burn and execute it with Vizzy, it just takes some doing. For example the flight program in this rocket includes logic to plane a burn to take a rocket from an elliptical orbit to a circular orbit by making a prograde burn at apoapsis. It should be possible to generalize the concepts in that flight program to make a variety of transfer burns from apoapsis or periapsis. If the fight program in that rocket is confusing I'm working on a video to demystify it. You can also find the appropriate timing for your burn using the math here.

For a simpler flight program that only calculates orientation for a burn around apoapsis, and not delta-v for a burn see this craft.
