Make transparent parts so we can create custom capsules with Windows or a plane cockpit.
This would be a really useful tool in the game because alot of crafts require Windows and instead they make solid Windows out of fuel tanks or struts or just make it hollow.

Maybe the closest we can get is a cutting tool to put holes in things and get rid of the drag

This has already been recommended, and rejected. It messes with the games ability to render water and other things that would be behind the invisible part, making it not possible.

At least we have reflective and emissive settings.
As far as creativity is concerned, there are options for the representation of windows at the least.
