How do I get the solar panels to cheque the battery? I am using ion engines but the battery runs down way before the xenon fuel but the solar panels do not charge the battery. Thanks in advance.

I built a land based test setup with battery, xenon and solar panels to test this. If I time warp while burning I can flatten the battery quite quickly. However if I time warp for ages while 'charging' the battery via sort panel the level remains at zero. I'm not sure the solar panels are charging the battery at all.
