Hi everyone , brand new to this and think it’s brilliant. However having trouble working out how to place a parachute and docking port around the same command module so it can dock in space and then return home and splashdown ( I guess like the Old Apollo command module )
Any replies much appreciated

I made a command pod with attached parachutes and a dock you can use (as well as other helpful stuff). Here's the link:

You could take and attach a fuel tank (empty if you wanted) to the bottom of the command pod and place the parachutes there. Or if you wanted, you could use the part attachment editor and just attach some parachutes to the side of the command module.
