I'm transitioning from Simpleplanes to Simple rockets... there is a massive skill gap between the two games.

Well yeah, when I started to play SR2, the only thing that was similar was the painting tool, and other random stuff, but nothing more.
Don't worry, if you were a good player on SP, you'll probably get used to SR2 quick.
