Hi...

Can someone explain how when I have 2 vehicles orbiting and track one with the other when I click the orbit sometimes in addition to the specs on approach for the 2 vehicles I see 2 arrows pointing at the orbit (one points up & the other down)?

I’d share a picture but I don’t see how.

Thanks

@Insanity Thanks! I literally figured it out a few minutes ago and here is the answer for anyone else wondering... https://www.simplerockets.com/Forums/View/34928/Transfer-WIndow?showAllComments=true#comment-63270

@AstroTommy the phase angles can actually be calculated but most of the time its easier to just play around with manouver nodes and getting an encounter that way.

    Thanx you 2.

Ahhh thanks I think I understand...that explains huge variations in # for the 2 craft even though they are like .5 total orbit difference.

@Allglad if your orbit is inclined (if it goes above and below the equator at 0 degrees) the little grey arrow pointing down would show the exact point where your orbit crosses the equator into "the southern hemisphere" and the arrow pointing up would show where your orbit crosses the equator again into "the northern hemisphere"
At least that's how I understand his explanation and it makes sense to me

@AstroTommy I’m not the only one that wondered....but I’m still wondering as the explanation is alien to me.

@Insanity thanks for the explanation, I will check it later... That would give you an indication as to where to make your burn for the most efficient inclination change. Makes sense.
Now I wish there was a way to know where is the best place to make your burn in order to get a most efficient encounter when targeting the moon or another planet... a bit like in SpaceFlight Simulator game.

It’s telling me when the vehicle I’m controlling is starting to go up or down?

    Um...thanks but huh?

Can ya be a little more basic in the technical explanation?

    Sorry I’m a rookie to SR2 mobile.

@Allglad thats just the ascending and descending node telling you when your orbit crosses the zero inclination mark.
