This morning i was in the bus, on my way to school and i heard they were playing Extremoduro (rock group) in the radio. My first though was "Dayum, since when does the radio play good music?" and so i didnt give it more importance to the fact.

However while i was eating while my grandpa watched the news, the bad news appeared on the screen… The singer, and lead member of Extremoduro, Roberto Iniesta had died at the age of 63, putting an end to spanish hard rock. Not only gutarist and singer but also songwriter, a reputated philosopher and a voice for everyone and an icon from a music period that will likely never come back.

Its sad the way all good musicians are dying this times… only this year, first it was Ozzy Osbourne… now Extremoduro…

But lets keep his legacy alive! even if you do not talk spanish, try using some traductor, let me guide you on some of his best songs:

  • 1. the most popular song of the group, "La Vereda de la Puerta de Atrás" (looking at the back door) talks about being left behind by someone, the pain of waiting her to come back and the wills of a different world happier for everyone.

  • 2. "Dulce Introducción al Caos" (sweet introduction to chaos) is a song in which we can see two parts, the introduction, a slow chill part rarely seen on rock, specially spanish in which idk what the lyrics try to say, and a second part, very dark, representing the chaos caused by losses, which is clearly seen in the lyrics: *"ya no queda nada de ayer, porque el viento se lo llevó. ya no queda una piedra en pie, porque el viento lo derribó." (there's nothing left from yesterday, bacause the wind took it all over. there is not a single stone standing still, because the wind took it all down)

  • 3. Quite a dark, hard, and somehow comical song, "Buitre no come alpiste" talks about someone that feels his relationship was a scam and has higher aspirations, but has been trapped in the relationship mentioned before for so long.

  • 4. "Cuarto Movimiento: La Realidad" is a song with a deep meaning, less hard in terms of music but harder in terms of understanding, the song talks about allienation and the distance between two individuals (maybe the same person though)

  • 5. to end up with a smile, the satirical song "Pepe Botika" talks about the life of a… hmm… someone who sold illegal consumables. it talks about his years in prison with comedy: ayayayayayayay Dónde estan? ayayayayayayay Mis amigos ayayayayayayay Encerrados ayayayayayayay Sin motivo. (ayayay where are they? ayayay where are my friends? ayayay They are in prison ayayay without a reason)

Hope you enjoy the deep philosophy behind this songs, if anyone needs help with the meaning of the lyrics feel free to ask me!
