With Ali's FOBs getting closer and closer to DSC's 200km safety bubble, Military Upper Command decided it was time to start setting up some of their own Forward Operating Bases in the event of an air raid.
they quickly realized, however, that FOBs are very mobile, which is something that SAMs in service didn't exactly have.
while the SAM-2U and SAM-2U-EA were extremely capable weapons, they were also extremely big and heavy, along with the TEL-3 and TEL-4/MAZ-543. FOBs needed lighter and faster trucks to move through terrain, urban areas, and be set up and put down in as little time as possible.
so, Rokugou systems went to work.
Picking up an old trophy truck model, they started by designing the missile bed and attaching dummy missiles. their first priority was increasing it's mobility as much as possible. Rear Wheel Steering was added to tighten down its turn radius, as well as heavier wheels to help keep grip on bad terrain.
the electric setup was also swapped out for a semi-hybrid setup, powered by an AGT-950 multifuel engine.
the truck's mobility was extremely high, being able to handle 48° mountainous inclines with minimal issues in climbing mode.
From there, they added fire control and a small search radar, replacing the dummies for live-fire missiles. it's range wasn't as good as they liked, but for a SHORAD position, it was okay. this was pushed into LRIP for DSC's Forward Operating bases.
for the time being, it's only a SHORAD platform, however in the future it's intended to be much more.
