Introduction
I started Fusion Space on May 21st 2023 as a newbie to gain experience with Juno's mechanics and improve my building skills. It was also a fun way to make science missions interesting.
Over time, I have begun to mismanage Fusion Space. I've entered a vicious cycle of beginning projects and not finishing them. As a result, I have been unable to meet schedules. To compensate, I lowered the quality of these projects or released them unfinished.
An example is my main launcher, F2RE, which has a lack of visual effects and a horrific vizzy setup, making launch preparations an absolute nightmare. This in turn reduced the quality of the missions themselves because I was burned out before even entering the recording stage.
I've decided that I want to make things better, and I will be starting a phased approach to improve things over the next few months and set up a foundation for the future when I will have a PC and much more creative freedom.
F2RE
First on the list is F2RE. It will be easier to start from a blank slate. I've set a preliminary target retirement date of December 2025. There will be 5 more launches to expend the existing fleet of vehicles and allow time to develop its replacement, which I'll discuss later.
These remaining 5 launches will be Junolink V1 missions. Due to the nature of the revamp. I've indefinitely delayed all my science projects: Cylero 2025, CSS-2+, Junolink XL, and several more unannounced projects.
Science/Mission Department
As noted above, all my science missions have been indefinitely delayed, partially for F2RE's replacement to come online, but mostly to restructure my workflow.
The CSS-2 mission was affected the most by my mismanagement, with an original launch date set for April 2025 and most recently, September 2025.
All my other missions and upcoming vehicles experience this issue, so they'll all be waiting for my restructure of the company before they continue production.
There's not much to share about these missions right now, but I'll be sure to share details in the future.
2025 plans and F2RE's replacement
While I begin planning the revamp, I won't be continuing any projects. That leaves 5 completed F2RE rockets with nothing to do, so I'll be launching Junolink missions on them and expending the hardware.
Speaking of F2RE's replacement... It'll be a total redesign of Fusion Two with the following changes:
Rocket
- New VFX to improve immersion
- Revamped Vizzy to improve reliability and automate essential in-space operations
- Revamped First Stage
- Revamped Second Stage
- Revamped Payload Integration System
- Lots of unannounced details!
Ground Equipment
- New Factory
- New Tank Farm
- Completed Crew/Payload Tower - Astronaut Campsite
This vehicle does not have a name or design set in stone, but I'll share updates in the coming weeks as design work and construction start. I'm hoping to have it ready by March 2026.
Switching to a PC
Believe it or not, Fusion Space has been running on an iPad for 3 years! As you may expect, this causes a pretty significant limitation for graphics and part count.
This has been bugging me for a long time, and it makes projects like Gryphon impossible to do. I want to finally admit that Gryphon cannot be developed much further than it currently is.
I also want to share that I am currently in the process of acquiring a PC sometime between December 2025 and April 2026. This will make everything look and run substantially better than it does now and, most importantly, it will allow me to launch Gryphon and finally experiment with some modding.
Summary
Fusion Space is a mess. Fusion Space is undergoing a full revamp, F2RE will be retired, All existing programs are on hold until the revamp is complete, and I’m getting a PC soon!
I'm also sorry for the potential immersion break! I've always had a professional mask on, but I wasn't sure how to do a proper update for this massive change in direction.
On a side note for any UK followers, Imgur is now banned in our country! So any existing embeds on this profile are no longer visible. I'm slowly switching over to Tumblr, so everything will be back soon.
See ya soon!
You're definitely the best one, mate. For sure. Since playing with OS on the PC makes it very hard to get creative, how can I make the best experience for five expectors? But nvm, if you want, I can help you with the builds or be part of the "creative team" for Fusion Space. Just don't expect me to create any vizzy because I don't really know much about it 😆
