I'm looking for somebody who knows who to build an interplanetary fighter jet that can land on every planet even the gas planets

    ...also minimize wing size to reduce unnecessary drag

    you cant land on gas giants due to the crush height that will destroy your rocket/jet

    i once set the size of a engine to around 400x the original scale. i wouldn’t call that enough, i made a fuselage wider than double the width of droo before

    @Xpace I'm a mobile player too.
    Most stuff you have to access in the hidden properties menu.
    You can modify almost everything in the menu but some stuff will break your game so be wary.

    @UPGindustries but how do I modify it?

    @JLaerospace yeah. You can change atmospheric engines to a point but mass scales automatically with mass flow rate so at some point you either have to try and edit the mass or the mass slider. Unfortunately editing the mass seems to throw off some of the physics. Wish there was a way to edit the exhaust scale seperate from the jet engine's scale. I like the idea of using an aerospike engine but fuel management becomes a lot harder.

    @UPGIndustries Ahh yeah ofc if u use tinker you can basically make everything work as long as they don't explode in the atmosphere, also ion engines work during time warp so that's also very nice. You can also edit all other rocket engine's fuel consumption by going in the rocket engine tab and editing 'massFlowRateOverride' for fuel flow and 'ThrustOverride' for thrust editing

    @JLaerospace I'm gonna take that into consideration. However I've found that modded or tinkered ion engines are best for heavy duty thrust since they can literally be made to run on any amount of fuel. Granted I know that makes it fantastical but in my personal opinion, it's just so much easier to make work without draining an incomprehensible amount of fuel.

    @UPGIndustries If you need 1 engine for everything, use the aerospike nozzle type, it had the same efficiency everywhere regardless of atmosphere.
    @Xpace If you have more space for engines, I'd add a vacuum-optimised engine for orbital manoeuvres and for thinner atmospheres. Also add either a shitload of RCS thrusters and monopropellant and/or a powerful gyroscope for in-space orientation and during aerobraking stuff (also comes in handy if your geometry makes it so your CoM shifts up/down during flight). I'm building a vanilla SSTO atm so I'm finding out these things out the hard way ahahah, hope this helps ;)

    put a rocket engine at the end of anything :)

    I may be able to help but I won't lie, I'm crap with vizzy lol. I do know how to make engines that work in any atmosphere though and would happily help in my spare time when I'm not working.
