I've tested fuel tankers and spacecraft on the launch pad with success, but as soon as I attempt docking on uneven terrain its basically impossible. Anyone have any tips to execute this process easier? I want to build a lunar base where I can refuel crafts.

A bit late but I discovered that when you set two hinge rotators on each craft to floppy so that it is like a chain they kind of dock automaticaly because the ports attract each other. At least on moon.

@MethaManAircraft I built a landing pad with a docking port in the center, then placed a docking port on the bottom of the craft, so I could lower the craft with pistons onto it. However, this method still took me 20 min lol.

maybe make the landing gear in a certain way so that you can adjust the height. Also try to find as even ground as possible for landing (the dark patches on the moon maybe?)
