    These engines works with high energy demand to produce moderate thrust over a very long period of time

    A plasma engine isn't very realistic. If by plasma engine you mean an engine that shoots out extremely high-voltage arcs to generate plasma and therefore thrust, such an engine would only work inside an atmosphere because it needs some sort of medium (air) to heat up.
    In such case, a simple electric propeller would be more efficient.
    And if you take the air to space with you, then you just end up with a less efficient and more dangerous ion engine.
    Also, a "nuclear ion drive" is an ion drive that draws electricity from an RTG, so basically you're suggesting an RTG, which I support.
