Amid Hyperion development chaos:

Nothing is official yet, but so senior administration at Orion Technologies is currently discussing retiring the highly-successful Eagle 5 launch vehicle, and by extension, the Eagle Heavy. This could mean a blow to many different spacecraft, including, but not limited to: Phoenix Lunar Lander, EagleEye GPS, Neuron Internet Satellites, the upcoming Astraeus Space Tug, Obsidian Logistics Vehicle, and the Phantom Crew Capsule. The three last listed vehicles are still in development. As of right now, Eagle 5-class launch vehicles have logged 133 successful launches, and 3/3 successful Eagle Heavy launches.

Now, many would ask, “If they do retire their flagship launch vehicle, what will Orion Technologies use?” Some may say Hyperion, though it’s not cost effective. Some may say use Eagle 1 V2, but it’s tiny. Some may say that they will switch to outside launch service providers. Some may say, perhaps, that they will develop a new LV to replace their workhorse rocket. Only time will tell, but our CEO has said that the near future is going to be exciting for sure. Comment on what you think will be their next move.
