So, im not sure how to continue, i have 4 remaining projects that are bound to be very detailed (700-1000 parts). I am pondering wether it is smarter to lower my standards and return to making less detailed crafts in the range of 300 to 400 parts or less. On one side, less detailed crafts are much faster to make and require less planning, on the other, High Detail crafts are way more satisfying and look way better. So one way would be to make slightly more detailed crafts/crafts in the range of the LPUS upper stage. The other way would be to still keep style and some complexity but make crafts way lower in part count. My question to you: Do YOU want higher or lower part counts?

What about a bit of both? When you feel like a project needs a lot of detail, make it with a higher part count. When you feel like a project still doesn't look horrible with less parts, try to use less parts. Sorry if this idea is nonsense, I don't know a lot about building.

Really I don’t know. I spent days making a high part count craft, and it got 3 upvotes. On the other hand, I made a 90-minutes low part count craft, and it got 8 upvotes. However, looking back at a high part count craft, you just get this feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment that a low part doesn’t give you. I would press that you stay towards the higher part counts(maybe more in the 500-700 range instead), they do really look and work better.

@VectronTechnologies Well, that's the thing tough, my crafts aren't really concepts for the most part. I usually build stuff like rockets and upper stages, basically a fuel tank and an engine which you can't really mess up anyway.

If it works properly, I'm fine with it even if it looks like a complete mess.
