Karman Space, a newly established private aerospace company headquartered in the Uthaian Republic, has officially announced the commencement of development for its first orbital-class launch vehicle, PHOENIX.
Founded in 2025, Karman Space is driven by the mission:

The company is dedicated to advancing reliable, affordable, and sustainable access to space, with a long-term focus on innovative launch systems, reusable technologies, and international cooperation. Positioned at the forefront of the Uthaian Republic’s emerging aerospace sector, Karman Space aspires to play a key role in shaping the future of global space exploration.
In a statement earlier this week, company executives confirmed that initial development work on the PHOENIX rocket is now underway. Designed to deliver small and medium-class payloads into low Earth orbit, PHOENIX will incorporate modern propulsion systems, a modular structure adaptable for different mission profiles, and elements of partial reusability to enable lower-cost, high-frequency operations.
"Our vision with PHOENIX is to set a foundation for the Uthaian Republic’s presence in the space economy," said Eric Vance, Chief Executive Officer of Karman Space. "This project is the first step in realizing our broader goal of creating a bridge between Earth and the stars, accessible to all nations."
The inaugural launch of PHOENIX is scheduled to take place from Horizon Cape Spaceport, a newly designated coastal launch site developed specifically to support orbital and future deep-space missions.
Further updates regarding the rocket's technical specifications, mission timeline, and payload objectives will be released as development progresses throughout the year.
With the initiation of PHOENIX’s development, Karman Space takes its first bold step toward enabling the Uthaian Republic’s role in the next chapter of space exploration.
