I wanted to suggest this but saw that the suggestion had already been made. In addition to solar panels, I think RTGs and nuclear reactors are an essential part to have for power generation. Please upvote the suggestion if you guys agree!

We have NTR, so the logical step is we having Nuke Reactor.

Space Shuttle used hydrazine APUs during ascent and entry/descent/landing.

Maybe to keep things simple, in SR2 there could be an APU part that uses "monopropellant" the same as RCS.
