Now that things are more stable we have decided to move forward with the rest of features we want to bundle with 1.1.

This beta includes something that is really big for us, the tests for the first Drood contracts. Right now we have 3 of the 12 rescue contracts that the game will have, in Hybrid mode so you can try them out without having to worry about progressing through a Career. Once added into Career these contracts will be the way to grow your Crew, up to a total of 26, so take care of them, because the crewed exploration contracts will pay really well!

We are looking forward to include the Rescue Contracts, Tourist Contracts, Crewed Exploration and a little surprise, so we will be releasing patches to include them throughout next week. Keep in mind these tests are simplified versions of the contracts just to test the core mechanics.

To better support the Drood Contracts we have included a tool to move crew in flight without having to EVA. You can move a bunch of them simultaneously and bring inside droods that are in range without having to take control of them. Crew will be able to move to any part in the same body or bodies connected with docking ports (this means they can't move through interstages, rotators and the like).

We felt like 1.1 had left abandoned the Vizzy players a bit, so we have implemented one of the most requested features for Vizzy: Ray casting. With raycasts you can throw a ray from a point and see if it collides with anything, similar to how Lidar works. I'm sure many crazy contraptions will result from this! On the list of VIzzy improvements, the Lists have seen a huge boost in performance and Funk can now access them, we will update soon the documentation to include information on how this works. With all these improvements we have remade the Default MFD reducing its size by 1/3, substantially improving its speed and fixing some issues it has been carrying for years now.

There are many changes in this patch, to see them all you can find them at the bottom of the Release Notes.

PS: Remember to check out the Puppeteering Challenge and the Airlift Challenge. They have some really nice prizes!

@Pedro As I mentioned before, it seems that the ability to change the name of the astronauts to something custom has been removed.

@Pedro It randomly lagged and crashed. I swear my older iPhone XS performed better with the game…

@RailfanEthan JNO is the DLC. To ask for more as extra content is a very slippery slope.

@ivansheppard853 what were you doing when that happened?

@Pedro How can you reduce crashing on a powerful device like an iPhone 12? It says the game ‘ran out of memory’ when no other apps were open.

@Pedro There is a lack of ‘wind’ physics, as in a fan or propeller won’t blow loose objects around. Same in simpleplanes. No detailed wind physics.

@LeMagicBaguette i feel like the release on the Fourth of July wouldn’t make much sense. Some companies take the Fourth of July off, and if jundroo does, then the devs probably wouldn’t want to spend their day off releasing the game on mobile. We also know that the update will be out by July ninth as stated in the “master of droods” challenge. Not that the exact date matters lol.

@DrooMulticompany I literally said we don't see that fit the game, what's wrong with that :/

@Pedro do not do a DLC. You cannot do that. We paid for this game. We paid good money. You can make a side project that’s freemium for all I care but this is a paid game and buying the game gives you the right to have all the content the developers added. DLCs are for chumps. Don’t sell out. Please.

@Felixhdz given how promises have panned out in the past, it is likely that the release will be early July, perhaps on the first week. Given that the Fourth of July is also in that timespan, there is a small probability of release on 4.7.2023 because it just happens to work out. This is only considered given their base is in the USA.

I've recently tried to make a drone (before this update) and I was doing like on YouTube video where there was something like rotation balancing where rotors rotated in opposite ways on sides and I did everything like in video but it was spinning uncontrollably in weird ways so I gave up for couple of months

@TomKerbal do you mean a DLC? Right now we don't see that fit in the game, if you want to support us sharing the game with friends (or even gifting it to them) would be the best way to go, what fuels us is our communities!

@Pedro: WIll there be a DLL one day ? I'm really worried about you all starving to death, and I'd like to help prevent that.... I'm really serious, you're doing so well, it should really be supported.

@OverCAT83 yeah, with raycast you can detect objects.
That is if it isn't only a mfd special code, returns false or true based on object detection

With raycasting, it might be time to switch the game from the Unity game engine to the Juno: New Origins game engine.
