Ok,, I'm pretty far along in my "seeking a game" journey, I have a few options that do get me pretty close. Of course I am always wanting more.
Because I am having a great deal of success using Kerbal Space Program to achieve my goal, and because simple rockets2 appears to be along the vein, and also has other things such as tanks, I thought i would post here for discussion.
Basically, my game is "drone racing in space" ,, the basic concept for realistic simulation would be that a rocket would launch (not orbital, just suborbital but high enough to have a races time worth of zero-g and no atmosphere , or as little as possible) ,, and pilots on the ground would remotely control small thruster powered drones that undock from the rocket and fly around hoops that inflate from the rocket.
I have a video example of what I do in kerbal space program to play something along this line. I love kerbal and all,, but it does not have the full feature set I would prefer,, for example it does not have all the camera features I would like, and also the way of constructing my courses is kind of a lot of work, and rife with limitations. -- there is another game here and another game there that do offer a sort of similar experience,, but they also don't have one thing or another.

I'm aware that games such as kerbal and simplerockets tend to focus on orbital mechanics and "real world spaceflight",, but drones that would do it do exist on the ISS,, and it would be the real-world example of high performance maneuvering just like the "fighters" in our favorite space fantasies. I suggest that it wouldn't even cost a million dollars to hold a race of this kind,, where the nfl costs more per game.
Your idea here seems quite complicated but if you have enough experience in games like this it is totally achievable in this game. However, the building system in this game is designed more like cad software in a way which gives way more freedom to basically create anything but it can take longer to create stuf and things like those red lights and complex structures in your video aren’t really possible in this game without a ton of time put into it. Also if you’re planning to use it for videos the graphical quality isn’t quite on par yet with games like ksp2. Like I said anything is possible with this game including drone racing in space from a rocket launch but I don’t know if the quality of the results is quite good enough but for just messing around it’s great. I hope I answered your question and maybe posting this somewhere else on the site will get you more responses like the questions area.
