Well, since the submissions panel is closed, here are a set of things I feel we NEED for career mode. These suggestions are all Near-Future Achievable
*3 Things we NEED
1. Asteroid Mining/Resourcing—please, this feeds into the next two, but resources and asteroid mining would be so nice to have. I think we need asteroid mining for more realistic near-future space agencies
2. Space fabrication: for those of us who want orbital shipyards, please let us create a limited selection of the basic parts in space using the Resources from suggestion 1.
3. “Welding Cord” can be attached to the back of a part, when mated up with another set of cord and be turned on and combine the two crafts into 1. This is something I want so we can make Starships in space, which allows us to get around resource limits


3 Things ALL of us want
1. Near-future engines: we need the option for using these things on the late game tech-tree—things like fusion torches, NSWR’s, Solar sail’s, fission/fusion reactors
2. Maneuver nodes like KSP—this is one of the big things that makes KSP easier to play with than SR2. This would let those of us who are not advanced coders to figure out in advance how we want to maneuver.
3. Drood Tools: for EVA work these are things like welders, grinders, drills, sample collectors, and manipulator arms so ships can help with these


3 things SOME of us want
1. Weapons/defenses: some of us view this game as a perfect platform for air/space battles. I’d love both atmospheric and In-space weapons
2. Rendezvous planner: this is a mixed thing that reduces the skill level required to play the game. I have very mixed opinions on this but feel it would over all be beneficial
3. Radars/sensors: this would go with asteroids—you could have a long range sensor that can detect asteroids ahead of you so you can rendezvous and collect resources.

    @CORC not having weapons is something I really like about the game. Not every game needs to be about shooting things down or killing others. And for those that want to cause mayhem, it is possible to use the existing parts to make missiles and guns, so the option is there, it's just not convenient.

    Most of the things you propose here were already suggested, so the closed suggestions section is of no harm, your suggestions if just duplicates of existing ones would be either merged with them or disregarded.

    About this post in itself. There were many things the game was lacking for career mode, we have addressed most of them over the entirety of this year, delaying the actual career mode update substantially in benefit of having a more polished game. We can't delay it any more.

    Your first point of things that are necessary include (I'm quoting): something nice to have, something just for those that want to make orbital shipyards, and something you want.

    About the second category, not everyone wants futuristic engines, they would be hardly of any use in a game without interstellar travel, and interstellar travel is not in the scope of the game. Drood tools are also a huge niche thing, and although I agree map view could see some love (I've made plenty of suggestions before joining the team myself) most players don't need orbital maneuvers because they just stay around the home planet.

    We really appreciate the feedback, but don't forget this is what you want to see in the game, not what the game needs or what everyone needs. By having that mindset you are just going to be frustrated because the game isn't a perfect match for your own needs.

    If the game does well after the release of 1.0 there are many things that could see improvements. As I mentioned the map view could get better tools not just for maneuvers but for transfers between planets. Mining would be really cool and we've mentioned in the past comms and science parts would be great to have too. But as of right now those things are totally out of the scope of what we are doing, Jundroo is a very small team, and SimpleRockets 2 is a very small game compared to others in the industry.

    The game doesn't require ANY resources at present, it’s a sandbox game. Presumably it will when career mode is implemented but how do we need resource collection and detection methods before the game requires it? Really I’m not trying to dump all over your ideas, I agree with your overall premise that once we launch a craft (or get it into to orbit around said planet) we need some things to do. But many of your ideas a literally things we need AS career mode comes out, not before.

    There are already maneuver nodes. It even has an auto-burn feature that is extremely accurate (maybe even a little too accurate). My only thing about them is that the icons are sometimes too small/ too hard to click on my Ipad.

    SR2 technically already has maneuver nodes, i never used them though so i have no idea how good or bad they are, but either way these are pretty good
