    I read somewhere a long time ago that the TWR should be around 1.4. when launching from Drool.

    in orbit, the twr doesn’t have to be very high, just enough that it won’t take thousands of years to make the apogee 1 kilometer higher (unless that is preferable somehow)

    but, for landing and takeoff, the twr must exceed the gravity of the planet, especially if you want to not slam into the surface

    For space tugs I usually use 0.85~1.3, and for rockets 1.3~2
