A new trailer for SR2 dropped today, and I've got ya a full breakdown on new features!

  1. Launch area / runway
we've seen a platform before, but now a runway too!

  2. Detacher / inter-stage fairings
Andrew has mentioned that these would be in the game, but no blog post was made specifically for them. You can change detachment force. Interesting note too, the horizontal detacher will act as an inter-stage fairing, much like SR1, however with the upside now of being customizable and viewable from the editor.

  3. New ion engine?
A new engine has been spotted in the propulsion tab during the speed-build portion of the video. From the few tenths of seconds on screen, you can tell its not like the others. It most resembles an ion engine! Previous statements made by Andrew say that ions will be way less OP than their SR1 counterparts, with less thrust and also needing Xenon as an additional fuel to electricity. No specifics are known, as there has been no offical blog post on them, and frames in the video have been skipped that would show a detail window on the engine.

  4. New editor tabs
I lumped all the new tabs together

    • Like SP there will be a part properties tab, showing scale, activation group, mass, price, and other
      options that are part specific.
    • Again, like SP there will be a symmetry tab. However, now you can do multiple way symmetry!
    • Oh wow big surprise, much like SP, there will be a paint tab. Looks remarkably similar to SP
    • Not shown was a tab with a [1 2 3] image. Most likely stage organization.
  5. In Game GUI
    Again, lumped all together

    • Much like SR1, there will be a nav wheel, but with an additional axis.
    • Speedometer will show what the speed is relative to
    • Two percent bars in the center. Guessing one is throttler, but unsure of the other (let me know) [edit: it's fuel left, pretty obvious]
    • Two switch lookin things are on bottom section. No ideas on what these are for (let me know) [edit: they are activation groups]
    • Simulation speed top right. Looks like well be able to do slow-mo!
    • You'll be able to turn off GUI to get nice screenshots
  6. Really nice graphics!
I know theres a blog about it but I can't help myself theyre so great!

  7. Detailed Terain
moon craters a bit slow to generate, but very nice once they do.

Thats all I could find. Let me know if I missed anything!
