I had this idea a while ago, but I've been too skeptical to submit it. Oh boy, here we go...

In-game, I have had many issues with things like crafts exploding very easily on contact with the ground, crafts spawning within the launch pad, etc, and I realize that these problems are also usually my own fault. So when I had finished ranting about how... ok maybe let's just skip that part, basically my two very lonely brain cells worked very, very, very hard, and had an idea. What if there was an option in part properties that lets you make the game treat parts as terrain? A couple minutes later, that same train of thought had come up with the following three "modes:"
Terrain, which anchors parts wherever they are in designer, gives parts no attach points, makes them spawn directly on top of the ground if it's the lowest part on the craft, and can never be affected by crafts colliding and bullying it around.
Semi-Terrain, which is the same as the previous mode except it isn't anchored, but it can still not be destroyed.
And, I'm just now realizing that my "third" mode is already what parts do by default, aka explode on any contact.
