I think having the option to have component failures and to be able to select the failure rate (something like on a simple slider, none, low, medium, high) which would then randomly fail a component such as an engine, battery, etc. would be great. This would be awesome if for ex. We tweak a rocket engine to give power above 100%, it would then theoretically have a higher chance to fail in flight. Another example could be if we get astronauts in the future, to have a decompression event or total/partial loss of oxygen.

As an added bonus it would be cool to have radiation fields and solar flares, which could also affect space hardware, such as gyros, engines, etc. It would be even more awesome to have real-time space weather incorporated where we could experience space weather as it unfolds (I understand this would be even harder to implement but still very cool).

@KraZIvan it can make us check the state of the rockets before launch to check the integrity of all parts like in real life

@pedro16797 That would be excellent in a campaign mode i agree!

I would love to see procedural winds and clouds and random failures based on something like part integrity. High stress or high temperatures lower the integrity, the higher the difficulty the faster it decreases.

Low integrity in a part means higher probability of failure, less efficiency, ... So we can try to reuse rockets to save money but with the inconvenience of the lower integrity, so we would take care of the crafts in order to keep integrity high
