While in the editor, you can drag your mouse to create a box selection and edit their properties ie: change the texture, fuel type, xml properties and roundness.

To make this more mobile friendly, instead of editing all parts within a designated area, there could be an option to select all parts of the same type. Say you want to edit the textures for all of your fuel tanks, you'd select one, and have a button to select all other fuel tanks. To take it one step further, you could allow selecting all parts of the same type in a stage. So if you want to edit the power of all the RCS thrusters in stage 4 separately from all the rcs thrusters in stage 1, you can. Then if you need to select a more specific selection of parts, you could do something similar to a SP fine tuner multi-select, where you add parts to the selection individually and use a button to finalize the selection and begin editing.

Note: Stages would be defined by separation stages, so all parts of the booster that separates in stage 2 would be considered by this system to be a part of stage 1. If there are multiple functional stages between two seperatory stages, then the stage that contains the previous separation would be the one you select to edit all parts in that separatory stage. An example: Your booster separates on stage 2 and then you have a stage 3 for your fairing, then a stage 4 to separate your second stage ascent module from your payload. To edit all parts of the same type on the second stage accent module, you'd select stage 2, and to select all parts of the same type on the payload you would select stage 4.

Has this been figured out yet? I am building a craft with many heat shield tiles and I don't wanna have to painstakingly edit each tile's properties.

Dragging the mouse causes the camera to rotate relative to the selected object. Perhaps the tab key or the control key needs to be held down? Maybe you meant the right mouse button?
