I liked a lot the idea of using the current color tools for the customization of the light part color beam instead of the addition of more tools and interfaces.

Thinking about that plumes came to my mind. Why don't we have the possibility of plume color customization in one of the part colors? I don't know how the plumes get their color now, but it may be easy to implement.

The only ingame problem that I see is that if a fuel (solid, rp1, ...) has a default color this may make it difficult to work with what I propose, but maybe making the default value unassigned, or making it so 0 detail is the default tone and 100% detail is the custom one may fix it.
